60th High School Graduation Anniversary also celebrated by ETHEL DELANEY this year

A year of celebrations as Ethel and her husband Russ traveled back to their high school alma mater, Martins Ferry High School in Ohio, home of the Purple Riders, to celebrate with friends their high school graduation.  Ethel first caught Russ’ eye during her school talent performances through grade school and high school.  During this time Ethel also performed regularly on WWVA’s Children’s Program and was well known in the area at this young age as a great yodeler and performer.

NOV/DEC 2000  -  CD "TURNING BACK TIME"  REVIEW by Jay Taylor, Publisher/Editor of "Country Musical Trails Less Traveled".

ETHEL DELANEY has come out with her first ever CD called "Turning Back Time" (CD80001).  I first heard Ethel on the Reunion Show at Fan Fair '77 in Nashville and found her to be the best female yodeler I had ever heard, bar none!  As with Juanita Clayton, Ethel does not yodel on all songs, but when she does, you're in for a real treat.  Yodeling songs include:  "He Taught Me To Yodel", "Swiss On Rye", "Goin To The Country", "Hillbilly Leprechauns" (one of my favorites!) and "Echo Valley".  The remaining songs are pretty much straight country and western.  Ethel grew up in Ohio and at one time was on WWVA in Wheeling, West Virginia.  She has been living in Las Vegas for a number of years now.
